Whats The Problem
Common Appliance Problems
WASHING MACHINE
My Washing Machine isn't not starting
- checking the main power switch for loose connections, power socket not working, if the fuse is okay etc.
- check the door lock is working fine if you have a front load washing machine.
- Main power switch or the control module (PCB) of the washing machine stops working.
My Washing Machine is noisy
- Objects trapped in between the outer tub and drum can cause noise, things like coins and debris are extremely common they can cause damage to the machine. Make sure you clear out all the pockets of cloths before putting them in the machine.
- The bearings of the washing machine also starts to degrade and become faulty causing loud noise while rotating. Operating a washing machine with faulty bearing can cause fatal damage.
My Washing Machine giving off some bad vibrations
- The suspension system can be damaged or worn due to natural wear and tear – Pro Tip don’t overload your washing machine.Make sure the machine is on a level surface
My Washing machine is making a noise when draining or Not Draining
- The drain pump could be faulty or blocked. Blockage in the pump can happen due to accumulation of cloth fibers and dirt. Cleaning up the pump and the connected hose will solve the problem. It is recommended to hire a repair professional for this task as it will require dismantling the pump assembly
My Washing machine is over-filling or under-filling
- the pressure switch is not operating as intended, either the switch is faulty, there is a hole in the pressure pipe or it has come off or the most common reason is the pressure chamber is blocked.
If you have attached a filter in the water intake pipe, make sure the filter mesh is clean.
My Washing machine is not Spinning
- The spinning mechanism and drainage system are both connected. So if its not draining then the machine will not spin.
- The motor’s carbon brushes may be warn-out, if the motor does not have brushes then there is a chance that the motor capacitor has failed.
- Belt from the motor to the drum may have snapped or has come off.
FRIDGE/FREEZER
My Fridge/Freezer is leaking water
- One cause of water leaking onto the floor is a blocked de-frost drain. The defrost drain is typically located on the back wall of the fridge/freezer, To fix this, try draining the hole from the inside using warm water. Try using a large syringe with a pipe attached to it and try and suck the blockage out.
- Any plastic Pipes or valves could be torn and would need replacing.
My Fridge seems to always be humming/cycling/running
ridges need to run in order to maintain cool temperatures for food, a fridge that constantly runs can be very noisy. Even worse, it will significantly increase your electricity bill, even low energy ones.
- Common cause of a refrigerator running too much is buildup of dust or other kitchen debris around the unit’s condenser coils. To check this, you should cut power to your refrigerator and access the coils, which are commonly on the bottom of the unit.
- Fridge temperature may be set too low, causing it to run constantly to maintain a very low temperature. Try adjusting your Fridge’s temperature to see if this impacts the cycling. Contact us if the problem persists
My Freezer is frozen to much ice build up
Your refrigerator’s freezer is the perfect storage space for ice, but it shouldn’t contain significant ice buildup.
- Leaving the freezer door open for too long could cause ice buildup, as this raises the humidity level inside the freezer. Be sure to close your freezer door when you’ve finished .
- Faulty seal, which lets in outside air. Replace your freezer’s seal to ensure it holds the proper temperatures and humidity levels.
